Furin (風鈴)

Furin means bell in the wind. Its pleasant sound is reconnected to summer. There are various types of Furin made with different materials, such as cast iron, ceramic or glass. From the bell hang tubes, to which a piece of paper is tied, on which you can write a wish. Every time the Furin sounds, moved by the wind, it reminds you of your desire. Furin has two main purposes: its delicate sound is thought to refresh the environment, thus making the sultry heat of summer less oppressive. On the other hand, the ancient tradition still remains alive, according to which their sound keeps evil spirits away from inhabited places.
