Our 100% Silk Japanese Kimono Jackets are all Haori Antique, Vintage in excellent condition. Haori jackets (Kimono covers), originally, were purely masculine garments to be worn over the Kimono. Over time, women have also begun to wear Haori over their precious kimonos. They are a versatile garment, which goes very well both with purely Japanese clothing, such as kimonos, and with Western clothes, such as wide trousers, simple jeans or even a little black dress. They can also be worn as a kind of short silk Kimono with leggings. Haori jackets can be worn in two ways: they can be left open or, for a more formal style, they can be closed by crossing them and using a belt. The shape of the Haori is a T like that of the Kimono, the long sleeves are used as pockets. In our collection, we have Haori both colored, embroidered and hand painted as well as black, similar to a duster or a bolero, which perfectly match Western garments.
